Spectator Sport - Bit-Tec Food Court

Noises, noises everywhere. Metallic utensils’ clang, footsteps sounds, people talking, the crunching of food, and so many other noises. Well, the Science fair sure is a large exhibition. All around me I see people in diverse flamboyant polo tops. Students from different provinces come here to attend the exhibition. Of course when people come, they need food. I also need food. So here am I, sitting boringly in the food court, with different noises.

At first I’m not hungry. But now, the scent of the savory dishes’ chemicals fly like birds through my nose, and into my chemoreceptors. My stomach grumbles like an old grumpy grandpa. I couldn’t bear this torturing my stomach sends to my brain, so I stand up, and walk to one of the food booths. The smell, the smell! Noodles with boiled meatballs and boiled-mouthwatering pork slices. It looks really delicious too. And there's Tom Yum Koong! Look at those prawns floating on the orange-looking soup. The other booth is some sort of Indian food. Even though I'm not a big fan of Indian food, but the scent of spices and chili strikes me badly.

Picking one of these foods is like the hardest decision in my life. I look up hungrily to one of the menus and gape. Fifty baht for one bowl of noodles! Are you kidding me!? So I glanced at the chef who's cooking the noodles and the assistant chef who's adding scallions and vegetables for the noodle bowl. But the appearance of the food sure does looks good. I hesitate, but still couldn't resist the smell! The smell of boiled pork slices makes my mouth water like some hungry drooling dog. Oh well, fifty baht for a nice bowl of noodle with boiled pork slices wouldn't kill me. So I order the noodle with boiled pork slices and soup. After for a while, the chef gives me the noodle and I pay him fifty baht.

I walk back to my seat, eager to taste the boiled pork slices. It seems like my salivary glands aren't working right. It seems to be producing so much saliva more than normal occasions. I sit down, and clean the spoon and fork (yes I eat noodles with spoon and fork) then dip it into the noodle bowl. Eager to satiate myself with the noodles, I stir the noodles to make the spices and scallions' taste mix with them. Then I taste  the noodle and then proceed to the soup. The assertive taste of noodle and the soup's mellow aroma make me feel how lucky I am to sit here and eat it without having other worries. I quickly finish my noodle because the taste is so undeniably excellent. I would like to say that this, is the best meal I have in about one month! I smile gladly because it was the right decision to buy the noodle bowl after all!

  1. Wow! Really nice spectator sport! Reading through this spectator sport made me feel as if I'm actually there in that food court, deciding whether or not should I eat the expensive food. I actually ordered noodles too, but it tasted bad. I think I ordered it wrong... Anyways, I digress. It's a very well written spectator sport.

  2. I love how you described the food. By reading this, I feel like I'm actually at the food court myself. Seem like you were so hungry back there at the food court. How you described the food made me hungry also! Great writing, I don't see any flaw at all. This writing takes me to the food court itself.

  3. This basically sums up every food court that is busy. The introduction was very catchy, and that probably made me want to read more of the article. There are some sarcastic sentences, but this serves to improve this piece of writing because that's just how teenagers are. The 50 baht for one bowl of noodle is also saying how prices are increasing in every thing. Great writing!

    1. Thank you, Best! Well yes prices now a days are increasing significantly. So I was lucky I bought a quite expensive noodle bowl and it tasted great.

  4. Very entertaining indeed! But like. There! Lots of interjections. Very fun adventure that I can picture out clearly. The food, the smell, the price, the sound ...that's just torturing and indecisive. One thing I am not sure is that the style of writing each sentence is a sometime a fragment and it seemed like a journal instead of an essay. But frankly, I am not sure. But yes. I Exactly, I gaped. I enjoyed reading very much, but let's make the sentence more uniformed for the safety of grammar's sake.

    Ciao !!

    1. Since it needs to be discriptive, so using of fragments will look more natural, frank, and a sincere writing. But I already edited some of the sentences though. Thanks for the comment anyways.

  5. I really like your writings! I can feel the tone, and the feelings you've put into the writings. The food, the smell, the environment, this looks so real to me. And my favorite part is, you make reading not boring as it was. You've put some funny adjectives, for example: "My stomach grumbles like an old grumpy grandpa." Moreover, your writing comes out naturally from your heart. It was beautifully paved. I was captured throughout the whole paragraphs. Some sentences were sarcastic, full of humor, and some are also serious in the tone...Keep it up!

  6. I can imagine in my mind on the scene that happens after reading your writing. You really describe the scene very well. Eventhough I’m there in the scene with you but to some extent, your words can really express more far beyond your facial expression. I really love it. Keep it up :D

  7. Great job, Chaiwarut.

Not only you astounded me, but you also made my stomach sing a monotonous song :S hahaha!
Overall, I think this entry is a masterpiece, and you can make better masterpieces than what you can now. Your usage of figurative speech is excellent, and it's easy to get (unlike some that was really hard to understand...) And once again, great job :D

  8. Wow! After reading this I can imagine a picture of you eating a bowl of noodles. Your words described how you feel very well. Even though I also went there with you, I didn't really remember those details as much as your do. This is great! I really enjoyed reading these texts.
